Solar desalination system

Starting from

1,900,000

Highlights

  • The base models can serve at least 600 people with daily potable water needs, maintaining WHO standards.
  • Offsets significant CO₂ equivalent greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions annually, using 100% renewable energy.
  • Reduces waterborne diseases by 30–45%, ensuring access to safe water.
  • Demonstrates practicality, having multiple plants built in Satkhira.

About our Solar desalination system

Freshwater scarcity is an immense global challenge, particularly in the LDCs. According to the UN, around 2.4 billion people live in water-stressed countries. Access to clean and safe water is a fundamental human right, yet millions face daily struggles to secure this basic necessity.

Saline water poses a significant threat to women’s reproductive health, causing (pre)eclampsia, miscarriage, and stillbirth. Children suffer from reduced kidney function, while hypertension is common in the masses. People relying on pond water and rainwater harvesting are also susceptible to waterborne diseases such as typhoid and cholera.

To address this deadly crisis, GREENFINITY has combined solar photovoltaics (PV) with reverse osmosis (RO) into a solar water desalination plant. As a result, operating these plants requires zero grid energy while providing an innovative and green solution to the safe water scarcity in saline-affected regions.
