About our Building integrated PV solar cooking

Building integrated solar cooking system is a modern approach to reducing or eliminating dependence on LPG by using solar electricity to operate induction cookers in residential buildings. The system combines rooftop solar panels, hybrid inverters, battery storage, and the building’s electrical network to create a cleaner and more efficient cooking energy solution.

During the daytime, solar panels generate electricity that can directly support induction cooking along with other connected electrical loads. When solar generation exceeds immediate consumption, the surplus energy can be used to charge batteries first and then supplied to the utility grid through net metering. This exported energy is effectively accounted for against the building’s overall consumption, helping offset electricity used later in the day or at night. As a result, daytime solar production supports nighttime cooking demand, creating a balanced day–night energy cycle that improves overall system efficiency.

Battery storage provides another important advantage. During load shedding or grid failure, stored solar energy can continue supplying the connected induction cookers and other essential loads, depending on the system design and available battery capacity. This can make cooking less dependent on both the electricity grid and LPG.

Induction cooking is highly efficient because heat is generated directly in compatible cookware rather than through an open flame. Replacing LPG with solar-powered induction cooking can reduce regular cylinder purchases, transportation, storage requirements, and explosion risk inside kitchens.
